"My Mom inspires me because she is such an amazing woman. She came to the U.S. with a pregnant belly and her mother with intentions to make a better life for me and she did. I am so lucky to be living the life that I live and I will never take it for granted."

M: My childhood was very sheltered, I grew up in an apartment in Huntington, raised by a single mother and grandmother. I never knew my biological father nor did I ever meet him till this day. Both my mother and grandmother knew very little English and learned from speaking to people at Church. I remember going to Church weekly with my Mom and Grandma and growing up in a Christian household.

YJ: Who inspires you and why?

I love you Mom, and I love you grandma Vibi for easing me while Mom worked hard to provide for us!
YJ: Do you believe in magic?
M: Is this a trick question? Of course I believe in magic! There’s magic in the moments you share with your loved ones. Whether that be a circle of friends gathering for a birthday or just a dinner date with a family member or dear friend. I feel there's magic in those moments and they should always be cherished because you never know if they’ll be around forever. I guess what I’m trying to get at is you should treat every moment as if it’s your last. I think that’s when the magic happens.
YJ: Do you believe in everlasting romantic love or is that a fairy tale?
M: I do believe in everlasting romantic love, but I feel like most people don’t so maybe it is just a fairy tale... I hope it’s not though.
YJ: In what setting/environment do you feel most at peace?
M: I feel most at peace when I wake up in the morning, after a good night's sleep.
YJ: When are you able to be yourself fully?
M: I am myself the most when I am surrounded by my favorite people doing the things I love.
